How to pray for JOY International and the global fight against child sex trafficking
- Finances. The illicit human trafficking industry rakes in more than $30 billion annually for organized crime. As you might guess, the budgets of all the ministries and campaigns against this trade are a fraction of that. Nevertheless, God does much with little. Please pray for the resources and stewardship that would make JOY International and other Christ-centered efforts effective in saving lives.
- Safety. As widespread as the awful child sex trade is, it is still somewhat underground. Furthermore, brothel owners and traffickers are not happy when their supply line of girls is interrupted or their business is hindered. (One child can earn $40,000 to $60,000 a year for her brothel owner.) Rescuing girls from this trade is dangerous. Please pray for the safety of our front line workers who rescue these girls and help them build a better life.
- Wisdom and discernment in networking with international connections. JOY International is crossing time zones and cultures, and we often meet people who are “friends of friends.” Relationships in this ministry are of paramount importance, and we really need the Lord to go before us and guide us into “divine appointments.” Please pray for exceptional wisdom in developing the partnerships that will be effective in abolishing this trade.
