Missions

The purpose of JOY Short-term missions teams is to bring the love of Jesus to individuals who have been freed from trafficking or live in high-trafficking risk communities, and to bless those who are working in this fight. We seek to be a light in dark places and bring JOY to individuals around the world!

Join us on a meaningful mission trip to Belize where our focus is on serving and loving the incredible people of this vibrant nation. Our team will focus on providing support to kids and teenagers who may be at risk of trafficking, abuse, and exploitation, or who are survivors of these challenges. By engaging in various service projects, kids camps, and discipleship opportunities, we aim to build up and empower the kids, teens, and young adults who are at the greatest risk of trafficking and exploitation. We will partner with local children’s homes, survivor programs, and youth outreach programs to share topics that can help encourage safety, healthy relationships, and healing for those who have experienced violence. Participants can expect to work with children and teens, leading Bible studies and VBS-style camps on topics such as boundaries, confidence/identity, and personal healing. There will also be opportunities for hands-on service through basic repair and improvement projects for residential facilities in the area. Applicants should be willing and able to work long hours in a tropical environment, participating in manual labor tasks and discipleship activities. More than anything, a heart willing to serve is needed!

Ministry plans incude*:
